On Code Story, Igor Mikhnenko, co-founder and CEO of Neera, shared the rule he’s carried through 15 years of building hardware: do the homework before you manufacture. Test everything, then test it again.

For Neera, much of that homework happens outside the lab. Neera is a vibroacoustic sleep system that brings gentle vibration and sound into the bed, designed to help the body settle, relax, and transition into rest. No new screen, no elaborate routine.
The hard part isn’t making something vibrate. It’s creating an experience subtle enough for the body and comfortable enough for the bed. And there’s only so much you can learn about that in a lab.
So as the team refines its prototypes, they pay close attention to how people describe their first session. Some talk about feeling lighter. Others describe a sense of calm, of being held, or simply being able to let go.
These are personal impressions from early demos, not clinical results or a promise of any particular outcome.

Haven’t heard the episode yet? Igor talks about opening a nightclub so he could DJ, the “zombie product” test, and why most smart homes are still stupid.
